When i went off plaquenil i got fevers

After the fevers I get severe chilblains on my fingers, ears and toes. This I have always attributed to the Raynauds I was diagnosed with as a child.

Chloroquine dose rheumatoid arthritis I need an eye exam for plaquenil retinal function Ra treatments plaquenil

However, the Plaquenil did nothing for the RA, and it is very dangerous for your eyes, so I went off. I have never had a lung problem from mthx, either, although when I went of mthx and Kineret, my biologic for a recent foot reconstructive surgery, I got a vocal fold nodule, and now I can barely talk. Going off methx just exhausted me. Re should I take Plaquenil now or wait? Hi. I'm obviously only a patient, but it's my understanding that you can have cutaneous lupus---discoid, hypertrophic, etc.---without having positive serology. When you have lupus, something happens to your body’s natural defense system your immune system to make it work incorrectly. Instead of only targeting bad things like viruses and bacteria, it also attacks healthy cells and tissues. There are several types of lupus, and every case is different.

So the reason for the post is to know if anyone here has had similar issues with unexplained fevers that cause chilblains? They typically form in the evenings and hurt like hell. It very mild case that is actually more sensitive to heat then cold.

  3. Plaquenil is a slow-acting drug, meaning that it can take up to 6 months to experience the full benefits of this medication, but it is possible for symptoms to improve in as few as 1 or 2 months. Plaquenil and other antimalarials are the key to controlling lupus long-term, and some lupus patients may be on Plaquenil for the rest of their lives.

Yes, plaquenil has helped me a lot. I once went off it, against my rheumatologist's advice. That showed me how much it was helping, because I got progressively worse after stopping it. Jan 11, 2012 So that's the update. The lesson here is - for those who need to go off plaquenil, be careful about just going off it cold turkey. Obviously some of CAN do that, but if you don't know if you're one of them - better to be on the safe side and wean slowly. Take it from me! I am feeling much better after bumping my dose back up over the last few. But I was just gonna tell you that I was on Plaquenil for quite a while, it was not until I got off for about 4 months that I began to lose chunks of hair. So I did get back on the Plaquenil and got the hair and inflammation lined back out and then I tapered the plaquenil down to 200mg when I was originally on 400.
