Do not take Doxycycline Capsules if you have an allergy to: Do not take this medicine if you are taking preparations containing vitamin A, isotretinoin or etretinate. Your doctor may have prescribed it for another reason. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure if you are taking one of these medicines. Do not take this medicine if you are more than 18 weeks pregnant or are breast-feeding. Doxylamine is an antihistamine, used to relieve symptoms of allergy, hay fever, and the common cold. This medication works by blocking certain natural substances (histamine, acetylcholine) that your body makes. This effect helps to relieve allergy/cold symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, and sneezing. Cough-and-cold products have not been shown to be safe or effective in children younger than 6 years.
